Celia Ireland has worked extensively in film, television and theatre and has garnered several awards and nominations throughout her career. Notably, her role in the feature film Australian Rules won her the Film Critics Circle of Australia Best Supporting Actress Award and also a nomination from Australian Film Institute Awards.

In 2016 Celia was the winner of the TV WEEK Logie Award for Most Outstanding Supporting Actress for her work in Wentworth.

Celia’s most recent film was Goddess, a musical comedy directed by Mark Lamprell. Celia has also appeared in the thriller Cactus, in which she starred alongside Bryan Brown and Shane Jacobson. Other film credits include RogueAngstMy Mother FrankThank God He Met LizzieIdiot Box and Venice.

Prolific in her television performances, Celia has appeared in many Australian dramas; Packed to the RaftersAll SaintsWater RatsMcLeod’s DaughtersMurder CallPolice RescueA Country Practice and many others. Her more recent television appearances include the multi award winning Redfern Now Season 2, Laid, Home and AwayRake Season 3, ABC children’s program My Place and the BBC/ Network Ten commissioned series Me and My Monsters.

Celia has worked with many theatre companies throughout her career. For Sydney Theatre Company she has performed in Cyrano De BergeracNavigatingA Comedy Of Errors, for Belvoir Street Theatre: Wasp, The Malevolence and Cosi, for Griffin Theatre: The Big Picture and All Souls and for Bell Shakespeare: Pericles and Twelfth NightTransparency at the Seymour Centre was her latest performance.
