Sally Regan has over 30 years’ experience working in the screen production sector and has produced film and television in Australia, Europe, Asia and America.
Sally is currently one of three Drama Investment Managers at Screen Australia in this capacity. Previous to her time at Screen Australia, Sally worked as a Development and Production Executive at Screen NSW working across documentary, features and television drama. From 1999 to 2003 Sally was Business Affairs Manager of Documentary Production at Film Australia, Australia’s leading documentary agency. In her capacity as Business Affairs Manager, Sally was responsible for over $6 million dollars AUD a year of production, often managing across more than 50 projects at a time. This experience has served her very well as an independent producer and in her roles at Screen NSW and Screen Australia.
Sally Regan’s producer credits include the multi-award winning theatrical feature documentary thriller Forbidden Lie$, The film won the Cult Prize at the 2007 Rome Film Festival, The 2007 AFI Award for Best Documentary, The 2007 Film Critics Circle Award and was named The Best Australian Documentary of 2007 by the Australian Film Critics Association (AFCA).Sally has also co-produced the international Russell Crowe-featured series The Colour Of War, and produced the ABC documentaries National Treasures, Korean ANZAC, Peter Berner’s Loaded Brush, Road To Tokyo, Nerves of Steel and the German/Canada/Australia co-production feature documentary I, Psychopath, and most recently The Lost Diggers of Fromelles for Channel 7. She also produced the ratings wining ABC telemovie The Prime Minister Is Missing.
In 2007 Sally was awarded The Screen Producer’s Association Independent Documentary Producer of the Year Award and Sally was also awarded the Kenneth Myer Fellowship upon graduation from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (BA 1994)
